The ruins of Castle Acre Priory, Norfolk. Thought to have been built in 1090, and in use until its dissolution by Henry VIII in 1537.
The quality of the ruins see interest in them remaining high - the Priory is currently in the care of English Heritage. Of far more interest to this author, however, is the fact that the Priory was used as a filming location for the Roger Corman / Vincent Price Edgar Allan Poe adaptation 'The Tomb of Ligeia,' as well as the cult '80s kids' show 'Knightmare.'
