Surrey House, pt 1: The Marble Index

The Marble Hall of the faintly ridiculous Surrey House office building, Norwich. Grade 1 listed and designed by George Skipper, it was built at the turn of the 20th century for the headquarters of the Norwich Union Life Insurance Society (now known as Aviva). It was built on the site of the 16th century home of Henry Howard, the Earl of Surrey.

It is also forms part of the so-called 'Norwich 12' - twelve of the city's most iconic landmarks.
