We Are Showroom Dummies
Peering through the (very reflective) windows of the credit-crunched Envy shoe shop. Norwich once boasted a thriving boot and shoe manufacturing industry. Now even high-street chains are dying on their feet. (Pun barely intended).
There's something pretty unsettling about those disused mannequins, not least because they reminded me of something I couldn't quite pin down. It's come to me now - it's the fossilised remains at Pompeii; in particular the squatting and lying figures.
