Hill House and Harford Farm pt 5

Hill House and Harford Farm pt 2 (Hill House [b])

Hill House and Harford Farm pt 1 (Hill House [a])

The derelict Hill House and adjoining Harford Farm. A quick Googling and the general consensus is that this site fell into disuse following the construction of the neighbouring A47 bypass, which effectively severs the road (Markshall Farm Road) on which these buildings lie.

All the buildings are in heavy states of disrepair: walls knocked out, graffiti everywhere, severe fire damage.

The farm is also the site of an Anglo-Saxon cemetery. Jewellery was found there when the cemetery was excavated in the early '90s, some of which is now on display in the Norwich Castle museum. Again, the A47 now cuts straight through this archaeological site.

These pictures were taken on a gross overcast day, so apologies for the light quality in some of these pictures, especially wherever the sky is in shot.
